Funding opportunity for Great Northumberland Winter Festival 2020

The Northumberland Culture Fund to support a Great Northumberland Winter Festival will go live on 7th September. It is a small grants scheme of £1-2k to support online digital content and/or events to bring some light to the darker months. Learn more https://www.greatnorthumberland.co.uk/fund

Second round of Theatre Arts Fund and Musicians Art Fund open

Launched on 6th July, these funds offer easy access individual grants of £1,000 for freelance professional theatre workers and grants of £500 for musicians. This comes alongside various other funding opportunities that have been made available through the Arts Council England. The CompassionART website for 2020 is now available. 24 new sessions incorporating paper-art, singing, up-cycled art, and yoga. For adults living with chronic illness - workshops free of charge. All of the sessions will be delivered online through Zoom.

CompassionArt is a project launched in 2018, working with people in and around the rural area of Hexham, Northumberland who are living with long-term chronic illness which prevents them from working, and has a major impact on their daily lives.

The Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage is part of the £1.57 billion rescue package announced by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to safeguard cultural and heritage organisations across the UK from the economic impact of COVID-19.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is distributing £88million of this to organisations in England through the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage. We are distributing this government funding in partnership with Historic England, based on criteria set by DCMS.
