Rediscover your local library this Culture Northumberland Co-Working Day

Have you been down to your local library recently? On 22 June, Northumberland Libraries is proud to be supporting the first ever Culture Northumberland Co-Working Day. In the aftermath of Covid-19, our libraries are once again open for business.

While it has been wonderful to welcome back so many of our existing customers, as well as a host of new customers who discovered a love of reading during the months spent in lockdown, what many people don’t realise is that at many of our branches across the county, our libraries offer so much more than just books!

We have formal desk space and informal collaboration space, free Wi-Fi, meeting rooms and casual meeting ‘pods’ as well as access to printing and copying facilities (charges apply) - basically everything you need for a productive day at work.

At all of our libraries, we offer a warm welcome and our experienced staff are happy to signpost to free information and advice for inventors, start-up and established businesses via online resources and at our local Business and Intellectual Property Centres in Berwick, Hexham and Morpeth.

These include weekly surgeries with access to 'experts in residence' and trained support staff as well as marketing intelligence and locally held workshops and events. To support the need for like-minded people to come together, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to co-work in your local library (where space allows). For those individuals who don’t have access to their own laptop, there are free public access computers available at all of our sites (although we would recommend booking a PC in advance to be sure of availability), we’ll even throw in a free cuppa to help you feel right at home!
